Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994, after she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number. The album was Gold in the year she turned fifteen years old. It was done as a collaboration that was highly inspired by R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri and Timbaland joined forces to record her sophomore album One In A Million. This album featured the track If Your Boyfriend Only Knew as the single number one. With the success of this album, Aaliyah received international recognition for her work as an R&B artist. Aaliyah appeared alongside legendary martial artist Jet-Li in Romeo Must Die (2000) the action and romance film. Joel Silver spotted her in an award show. In 2002, she was in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels was her first appearance in The Matrix Sequels. Majumdar. While her initial career was filled with minor television and film parts, she gained recognition in the latter half of 2000s. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The actress also appeared in a variety of commercials including Volvo as well as other major auto companies. She lives in Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
